Ballincollig Community Forum

Ballincollig Community Forum territory will be divided into six Town Areas of similar populations. This will ensure an equal spread of representation throughout the town. Each Town Area will have 6 - 8 gatherings a year and these meetings are open to all who live or work in the designated area. The functions of the Town Area gatherings and listings of the Estates that make up the Town Areas are set out as follows:-

Functions of the Town Area Gatherings



Identify issues that need to be addressed in the area. Prioritise issues.
Raise awareness of the Community Forum so as to promote buy-in.
Promote and participate in Ballincollig events.
Broaden community decision making among residents, workers and volunteers.
Elect members to the Forum Administration Committee.
Concern itself with the social, cultural, educational, environmental and economic well-beingof our community and addressissues that might threaten this wellbeing.

At each first meeting of the year the Town Area gathering will nominate up to five representatives to the Representative Committee, of whom one will be selected to join the Forum Administrative Committee.

The Community Forum, as a whole will meet twice a year.
